Kuri Sake is the realisation of a ten year old dream of brewing Austrian sakeFrom the time when we first tasted sake, we were intrigued by its complex and long lingering taste. During the pandemic, instead of baking bread, we started to think about brewing our own sake. After researching the brewing process, we started our attempts. After four years of experimenting with different types of rice and yeast, we have now a sake that we feel is ready to be presented to sake lovers in Austria.
We do the whole process, from polishing the rice to filling the bottles, ourselves. Our ingredients are rice from Austria, yeast stemming from Japan, Japanese koji and water from the Austrian Alps.
